It presently manufactures one automatic machine per month. Excel Machinery showcased its range of Maxima automatic die-cutting machines at PrintPack India show.

The Maxima EXB-35 automatic die-cutting machine is produced in 25x35.5 inch size and can be used with substrates of upto 600 gsm. "Besides doubling our capacity, we will also be manufacturing Maxima of a bigger size, of up to 28x40 inch," said Jitendra Patel, managing director of Excel Machinery.

Excel Machinery is a family business and managed by Patel and his nephew Vipul Patel. The company, which has been manufacturing die-cutting machines since 1987, initially started with hand-feed machines. However, since the last five years, the company has been manufacturing fully automatic machines.

Excel has more than 30 machines running in plants across India. "We are planning to introduce a new model in the next six months and will be within the Maxima die-cutting series. Now, we are targeting exports," said Patel.

At PrintPack, Excel sold a machine to Creative Printers of Ahmedabad - and signed a deal for two overseas orders.
