IIP’s flagship show Indiapack gets a grand opening today

The Indian Institute of Packaging is thinking big. By expanding this year’s packaging show, Indiapack to 12,000 sq/mtrs, the four-day show which began today is 100% bigger than the previous edition.

This sixth edition, which comes on the back of five successful shows, will see 300-plus exhibitors showcasing their latest offering in the packaging machinery, materials and service segment, and an expected footfall of over 15,000 high purchase trade visitors.
 
The national level apex institute for packaging is celebrating its golden jubilee this year, and besides the Indiapack show, it will also host concurrent events including World Packaging Congress and the IndiaStar and PacMachine Awards.
 
India has emerged as one of the major consumer markets in the Asian region. The Indian packaging industry is getting its due share in the consumer boom which is estimated to be USD 18.8 billion and is growing at an average of 15% per annum.
 
“To meet the growing demand, the industry is looking out for the latest packaging technologies to develop state-of-the-art packaging. Indiapack will serve as an important platform for companies providing an end-to-end solution to the packaging end users from pharmaceuticals, processed and fresh food industry, chemicals and confectionery, perfume and toiletries, cosmetics, toys, sports good and allied industry,” said Shekhar Amberkar, assistant director, exhibition and administration, IIP-Mumbai.
 
He added, “The four-day mega event is all set to take the packaging business in India to the next orbit of evolution.”
