Ruchira Papers to invest INR 100-crore for business expansion

Ruchira Papers, a manufacturer of kraft paper and writing and printing paper, is set to make an investment of approximately INR 100-crore to expand its business operations.

The company, incorporated in 1980, recently announced its Q4 FY25 results, reporting a revenue of INR 161-crore, a slight increase from INR 160-crore year-on-year. The Profit After Tax (PAT) for the same quarter was INR 18.39-crore, up from INR 9.64-crore year-on-year. The company also noted higher other income in Q4.

As readers of PrintWeek are aware, Ruchira Papers manufactures various grades of kraft paper used in the packaging industry for corrugated boxes and other packaging, highlighting its load-bearing capacity and tensile strength. The group's writing and printing paper is utilised for multiple purposes including printing, stationery, notebooks, and writing material. The company also produces coloured paper for spiral notebooks, wedding cards, and children’s colouring books.

In terms of new product development, Ruchira Papers has launched Leher and Neer, which are cup stock papers for disposable cups, and Mogra, a premium paper variety for wedding cards and invitations.

The company's manufacturing facility in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, has an installed capacity of 91,800-mtpa for kraft paper and 60,000-mtpa for writing and printing paper. In FY23, the company produced 146,758-mt of kraft and printing paper.

In FY23, kraft paper accounted for approximately 39% of the revenue, writing & printing paper for about 60%, and ash/sludge and scrap for 1%. The geographical revenue split for FY23 showed exports at around 1% and domestic sales at approximately 99%.
