Monotech Systems, Pressline unveil KnowzzleJet 880

The launch marks a strong collaboration between Monotech’s expertise in inkjet technology, electronics, and print engines and Pressline India’s strength in web press engineering and transport systems, resulting in a fully integrated, high-performance solution.

The KnowzzleJet 880 is engineered for high-volume monochrome book printing, capable of achieving speeds of up to 200-m/min, positioning it among the fastest solutions in its category.

The press is equipped with Memjet printhead technology, known for its high-speed capability and consistent output. With a print width of up to 840-mm, the machine is designed to handle diverse publishing requirements efficiently.

One of the standout features is its patented S-type duplex printing design, which enables printing on both sides of the web without turning the paper, enhancing productivity and reducing mechanical complexity.

The KnowzzleJet 880 integrates servo-driven automation across the system, including braking, tension control, and web alignment, ensuring precision and consistency throughout production.

The press also offers variable and fixed cut-off options on a single machine; multiple folding configurations (up to three folds, extendable to four); IR drying systems for efficient ink curing; and instant job changeover, enabling seamless switching between jobs. These features make it ideal for handling short runs, versioning, and on-demand book printing.

Even before its official unveiling, the KnowzzleJet platform has demonstrated strong market traction. Monotech and Pressline have already sold 17 machines, with installations across 440-, 660-, and 880-mm web widths, reflecting growing industry confidence in the solution.

Repeat orders from existing customers further underline the machine’s reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

While positioned as a high-end industrial solution, the KnowzzleJet 880 is designed to deliver competitive cost-per-page economics. According to the company, the machine becomes more economical than conventional offset printing for runs of around 2,000 books, making it a viable option for both established printers and new entrants.

The system also supports flexible commercial models, including service-based and click-based options, enabling printers to choose a structure that best suits their business needs.

With India’s book market projected for strong growth, driven largely by educational publishing, the demand for faster, flexible, and digitally driven production is accelerating.
