Pamex 2024: Poly Master showcases knife re-grinding

First things first. Gaurav Mahajan of Indo Poly machines is a huge advocate of tungsten knives. He said, "Revitalise your dull knives with the automatic tungsten knife sharpener." This, he said, is the ultimate tool for effortless sharpening. It keeps your knives sharp and ready for any task for approximately 20-25 days." He knows what he is talking about, since 35 Poly Masters with a tungsten knife have been installed in Indian factories.

The second thing which Mahajan shared with us, is how the Amritsar-based company's reputation was made at the first Pamex in 1987. "He said, our order books were bulging. And the knife sharpening machines which we sold for Rs 35,000/- were being sold in black for Rs 50,000/-. He said, "We started our journey with Pamex at the Nehru Centre. And that event was a great success for our company. We received enquiries from the first Pamex show even after so many years."

The product that was exhibited was the Poly Master automatic knife-grinding machine.

At Pamex 2024, Gaurav Mahajan's star product is an upgraded version of the Poly Master automatic knife-grinding kit with solid ergonomics powered with Siemens technology. This he said is "Suitable for re-grinding for all Indian and imported guillotine paper cutting machines like Polar, Seypa/Perfecta, Wohlenberg, Itoh, Muller Martini, Senator, Proteck, Hycut, Nagai, Sudarshan,  etc.". Also the technology can re-grind three-side trimmer knives. This is the reason, the Poly Master, added Mahajan is "Always a first and good choice for customers who seek re-grinding for their knives in-house to improve the cutting." The reason the major players in publishing and pharma packaging do so is, "They face a big barrier to send the knife outside for re-grinding  on a daily basis or alternate days as a result the knife quality reduces day by day. This means the knife life is drastically slashed to 50%."

Mahajan's mission in life is "the grinding quality improves". For this, the company which was founded in 1975 offers a special Diamond Tool Attachments (TCT) so that "The customer can re-grind the tungsten carbide knives."

Today more than a thousand commercial, book printers, notebook manufacturers and board converters and paper mills factories are investing in a Poly Master along with their expensive machines. This includes some of the largest players in each segment. “Previously, the clients grinded the jobs from us, but if we compare our last 15-year datasheet, 70% of our clients are end-users instead of job work users,” Mahajan signed off.
