Heidelberg's success The result of successful teamwork

The Home of Print was reopened in June 2025 as part of Heidelberg’s 175th year, drawing more than 1,500 international visitors. The centre demonstrates complete end-to-end packaging, label, and commercial printing solutions, all built on the Prinect workflow platform. Heidelberg also showcases integrated systems developed with partners including MK Masterwork, Polar, CP Bourg, and Tecnau.

Dr David Schmedding, chief technology and sales officer, said the platform reflects Heidelberg’s direction. “With the Home of Print customer experience centre, we show customers the potential of modern printing technologies for their business model,” he said. He added that the Red Dot recognition supports the company’s focus on developing a personalised customer journey. Winners will be announced in November 2025 on the Red Dot website.

The centre spans 9,000-sqm and hosts about 1,000 personalised demonstrations every year. Customers often test machines with their own print jobs to assess performance against their specific requirements. A team of 120 Heidelberg specialists guides them through preparation, demonstration, and follow-up.

Heidelberg also holds regular open house events highlighting trends in packaging, label, and commercial printing. In addition, the company conducts around 100 guided tours each year for visitors from brand firms, educational institutions, and related industries. Training programmes for Heidelberg’s service team also take place at the site.

Beyond Wiesloch Walldorf, Heidelberg operates customer demonstration centres in the USA, China, Japan, Indonesia, and Switzerland, extending the Home of Print concept across key global markets.
