Diamond Art Press gets its second Komori

Kolkata-based Diamond Art Press has recently invested in a Komori GL 437 sheetfed offset printing press. This is the company’s second Komori. The company installed the first machine, a Komori Enthrone four-colour 29-inches printing press, in 2019.

Mohidul Haque, director, Diamond Art Press, said, “It was our first-ever new printing press. Gradually, the work has increased and we needed another printing press. So, we decided to opt for another Komori.”

The new Komori GL 437 has been running on the company shopfloor since the beginning of the year.

“We are happy with Komori’s after-sales service. The company has stationed an after-sales service engineer in Kolkata itself and it is the biggest advantage for us,” Haque said.

Diamond Art Press is a family-owned business run by Mohidul Haque and his younger brother Mizanur.

Established in 1960 by Haque’ grandfather Molla Gholam Kudhus, and located in the heart of the city, Diamond Art Press specialises in single-colour printing.

Until 2019, the company was using a four-colour printing press from 2016 but after-sale service was becoming a pain point. So, the company decided to go for a new machine.

It also purchased a Thermostar T9 in 2020.

Haque said, “People were worried about the future of commercial printing, but fortunately the segment is doing well. We work with more than 250 freelancers. We run our facility round-the-clock to provide prompt service.”

He added that today, even in offset, customers demand fast delivery like digital. “We are capable of printing any kind of commercial job. A team of 40 people works 24 hours to serve the clients.”
