Start-up Fine Flexo opts for XSYS plate solutions

Early this year the company has invested in a Xsys flexo pre-press system comprising of ThermoflexX TfxX 60 E and a plate processor from Glunz and Jenson, 405 DW, along with exposure and dryer and light finisher. The flexo platemaking equipment has been installed by Repro Graphics, a supplier of XSYS products, in February 2022. The company has set a target of producing 2,000 sqm flexo plates by December 2022.

An offset and conventional flexo plate specialists, Ambition Block was set up in 2012 by Dewang Patel, who later diversified into digital flexo platemaking in 2019, with the support of two partners, Mitul Patel, and Jaimin Solanki.

It was Patel’s dream to establish a flexo digital platemaking house outside Ahmedabad. “We chose Kolkata as our next project when realised the market potential in the region. There are no digital pre-press house. Of course, Covid-19 pandemic was a worry but we were optimistic of future and were sure the situation will improve,” said Patel. “Packaging has become a part of essential industry.”

While Patel installed the Kodak Flexcel NX and Flexcel NX plates supplied by Miraclon partner in India, Monotech Systems, for its operation in Ahmedabad, he chose the Flint technology for the Kolkata project. “We have been associated with Repro
Graphics since our conventional platemaking days, when Repro Graphics represented Flint. XSYS is the only company offering complete solution in the flexographic pre-press sector,” said Patel.
