Provin to represent inline colour control systems from Lithec

Akshay Kaushal, executive director-sales, Provin Technos, said the distributorship agreement between Lithec and Provin is limited only to India.

“The demand for inline colour control system on the presses is on the rise in India, especially in the packaging segment. Presently, the inline colour control systems are provided by the press manufacturers themselves, but only along with the newer versions of presses. On the other hand, Lithec’s Lithoflash is the only system in the world that can be retrofitted on almost any of the offset printing machine,” Kaushal said.

Lithec was the OEM supplier for KBA and all the densotronic (offline) colour control systems that were provided with the machines earlier were from Lithec. “In that respect, although Lithoflash is installed on 200 systems worldwide, the product is being newly introduced to the Indian market,” said Kaushal.

He said the system provides the printers flexibility to upgrade an older press to state of the art degree of automation.

“For an offset printer, the printing quality is directly related to the operator skill level. When it comes to controlling the colour and the variations, operator's skill level plays a very important role. With Lithoflash, that dependency is reduced and the adjustments are done automatically by the system with minimum operator’s intervention. All the operator has to do is just input the values in the system and the system will do the rest. This also allows the customer to print by actual numbers with all the data stored in the system along with the print data, providing the printer gapless data of quality,” he added.

Apart from this, Kaushal said there is big time saving during start up due to non-pulling of sheets and value setting, which leads up to 25% lesser sheet wastage. “These all lead to higher productivity and high quality printing consistently,” he concluded.
