Johncy Jacob of Vallikadan Impressioners Galleria, said, “I’m the second generation in the business. My father started the company 48 years back, using letterpress technology. He passed on his experience and expertise to the next generations, with constant transition from letterpress to the latest and upgraded printing technologies and methodologies to move along the changing trends in the market.”
He added, “Right from printing bill books and such end-products using the traditional offset technology, we escalated with gradual upgrades of our machine line up as well as product portfolio. Digital printing for short-run and POD jobs is one of our newest verticals. For this, we have specifically invested in the ImagePress V800, an ideal system from Canon India for digital production printing.”
It has been around 8 years since Vallikadan Impressioners Galleria started its engagement in digital printing, producing end products like wedding cards, stickers, labels, etc. “All our short-run items are now seamlessly printed on the ImagePress V800. Unlike other digital presses in its class, this compact Canon system is fully loaded with advanced features and capabilities, which eventually meet every bit of our digital printing requirement,” Jacob said.
ImagePress said the ImagePress V800 is perfect in terms of its capability to print high-textured graphics and productivity. He added, “After this machine, our production volume has dramatically increased, without any effort. The press’ ease of printing envelopes helps us to add more varieties in wedding cards and others. Its rich black and dotted print helps in high yield poly plates and embossed effects in toner fused foil work.”
According to Jacob, the swift increase in the company's volume of work because of the ImagePress V800 has given them the confidence to go for further investment in long-run machinery. Delivering prints in the industry’s leading resolution of 2400x2400-dpi, using the R-VCSEL imaging technology, this Canon digital press is compatible with media of 52- to 350-gsm that include covers, envelopes, synthetics, and long 1,300-mm-sheets — all produced at the speed of 81-ppm.
Handled by a team of half-dozen skilled staff, Vallikadan Impressioners Galleria’s printing and post-printing units are currently equipped with advanced presses and equipment for all kinds of jobs and applications including large banners, sticker cutting, spot UV and lamination, digitally printing short-run graphics which the ImagePress V800 is taking care of seamlessly.
