With the Ricoh engine, the company expects 100% growth in the business

Abhishek Nangia, second generation of the family-owned business, said, “There are two major reasons to opt for Ricoh press. It is a perfect combination of a digital printing press manufacturer and its representation in the country. Ricoh has always been a rigid and robust press and Monotech has a rich history and strong experience with digital cut sheet printing presses. For a capital equipment investment both are mandatory.”

Another reason is its extended colour gamut and versatile media handling capability. “We can print up to 11 colours on it, including white and metallic at the speed of 85-ppm. The opacity of white colour is much better. We are using the Ricoh press to print short run multicolour labels to meet the demand of short run labels. Short run label segment is growing well because of new start-ups and new ventures, and demand for short run jobs,” he added.

The company is focusing on labels and if it gets good responses, it will go for a roll-to-roll label printing press as well in the coming time. “And Monotech has the solution,” Nangia said.

He added, “We were printing labels before but the colour gamut was limited to CMYK and now with Ricoh we can expand it. The digital printing press is equipped with an EFI Fiery digital print server to control the print production better.”

Nangia joined the family-owned business in 2000 and didn’t change the name because he believes that his father's blessings and fortune are attached to it. “We are open for all seven days a week. The market is picking up, the number of jobs and demand for print are increasing,” he said.

With the Ricoh print production engine, Nangia expects 100% growth in his business. “We are more than 75% back on track after the pandemic and will be 100% back to normal production soon,” he said.

He added that the company is catering customers from Kerala, J&K, Himachal and other parts of the country. Going forward, Nangia said, he wants to focus on both quality and quantity, and the new investment would help him achieve it.

Now, the company is doing tags for the garment industry and Nangia said the new Ricoh gives him the confidence to make those labels more lucrative and visible. He said he is taking steps into the label and apparel tags business, but he believes in the potential of the segment and is keen to focus on it.

Nangia’s father started Bharat Photostat as a photocopy shop. “My father realised the opportunity of the photocopy business and stepped in. Gradually, we developed it into a digital printing company,” he said.

Presently, Bharat Photostat is equipped with multiple print production engines from Japan and USA. The aim is to provide an entire solution under one roof from design to deliver the final product. The company has multiple in-house designers to correct and develop designs. Again, a fully equipped post-press facility is capable of meeting any kind of demands. Around 25 people work in the 2200-sqft shopfloor of the company round-the-week.

Gurvinder Singh, director, sales and marketing, Monotech Systems, said, “We are ready to serve the industry in India with a robust and vast portfolio of Ricoh print production engines. Our rich experience with digital cut sheet printing presses and strong team on the ground will help printers to grow well in digital printing with the printing products of extended colour gamut and print beautification. We have multiple Ricoh installations and the number is growing well.”
