K 2016 at Düsseldorf to show how plastics will shape the future
Besides Frankfurt Book Fair, Germany hosts another important trade fair from today – K 2016, the world’s premier fair for the plastics and rubber industry. The show is on until 26 October 2016 at Düsseldorf.

The K 2016 will present the industry’s innovations and new launches. On its ninth edition, under the motto of ‘Plastics shape the future’, the focus will be on the functionality, aesthetics and sustainability of plastics.
‘Plastics shape the future’ will be seven theme days of talks, including keynote speeches and panel discussions on Plastics Industry 4.0, New materials, Lightweight Design, Marine litter, Youth and Education, Plastics meet Design and Resource efficiency. Experts from the worlds of science, business and politics will be present at the show and discuss the economic, social and environmental challenges and potential solutions.
At the show, a robotics team of the CJD School in Königswinter will demonstrate their skill and Dr Gerhard Heywang will perform exciting plastics experiments.
The trade fair showings will be rounded off by the film Plastics Shape the Future by Udo Tschimmel.
During the show, another high point will be the talk by Dr Ernst-Ulrich von Weizsäcker of the Club of Rome, which will be held on 25 October. Von Weizsäcker will be speaking on resource efficiency.
K 2016 is a project of the German plastics industry under the Plastics Europe Deutschland e.V. and Messe Düsseldorf.
