HT Media accredits growth to circulation and advertising

HT Media, the publisher of Hindustan Times and Mint has posted a growth of 0.77% for the third quarter of the financial year. The net profit, Rs 48.16-crore is a leap over the Rs 47.79-crore documented in the previous year.

Amid the rising newsprint prices and a depreciating rupee, the company attributes its current growth to  the advertisement and circulation section. The advertising revenue rose by 11% amounting to Rs 407.3-crore, while the increase in circulation figures has resulted in a rise of 7% amounting to Rs 50.3-crore.

Additionally, the scaled-up operations of the firm has resulted in an increase in the employee costs by 23%, 13.1% increase for the raw materials and 24.7% rise in other expenditures.
