Anil Namugade, founder-director of Trigon Digipack, received the Hidden Gems Award from Mumbai Mudrak Sangh (MMS) for his contributions to packaging innovation.

Namugade began his career as a scanner operator and entered the packaging sector with no prior business background. While working at Kodak, he identified a gap in the market: brands required mock-ups and proof-of-concept packaging, but there were few service providers.

In 2008, he co-founded Trigon Digipack with Milind Deshpande to address this gap. The company positioned itself as a service-focused provider working with creative agencies, printers, and brand owners.

Trigon introduced digital mock-up services using advanced technology, but Namugade emphasised that the advantage was not hardware alone. According to him, the differentiator was the integration of software, skilled people, and a strong process framework.

Today, Trigon serves more than 600 startups, providing small and medium quantities of all types of packaging, which include flexible pouches, labels, cartons, and canisters. They have been a one-stop proofing and mock-up service provider for leading brands across the world since their inception.

Namugade attributes the company’s stability to internal culture and team management. He describes his approach as team-oriented, where leadership is based on mutual respect and structured systems.

He notes that vendor relationships, client trust, and employee commitment are central to the company’s operations. For Namugade, giving up is not an option, as it would mean letting down the people who supported his journey. He reflected on this during his acceptance speech.

While accepting the award from the guest of honour, Mangala Wijesinghe, the chairman and CEO - Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Namugade thanked MMS, SLAP, his family and his employees. He said, “It is all driven by the customers, we build, we fail, we succeed, it is all about customers. The simple mantra is to just keep going despite the failures, there is no other philosophy behind doing business.”

Looking ahead, he plans to position Trigon as a global player in packaging mock-up solutions, with a focus on building sustainable and scalable systems.
