While the firm maintains a presence across India, international trade now accounts for 25% of its total business

Sun-Up India Machinery presented its latest pneumatic single-facer corrugation machine at the Corru Pack Print India exhibition, highlighting a shift towards entirely domestic manufacturing. Devinder Singh Bhurjee, director-technical, Sun-Up India Machinery, stated that the displayed unit features a gimbal gearbox system with external gears. This design intends to reduce wear and tear during long-term operation, with all three rollers running on the shaft. The machine is constructed with a steel-fabricated double-wall frame. For technical specifications, the company uses EN19 alloy steel for the rollers and EN9 alloy steel for the pressure rollers, all of which undergo hard chrome plating.

A primary feature of the exhibited model is its dual-profile capability. This allows two different profiles of flute rollers to be fitted onto a single machine. According to Bhurjee, this configuration enables a changeover time of less than three minutes, which assists operators handling varied job requirements.

The company currently reports a delivery turnaround time of approximately two and a half months for a full set of machines. While the firm maintains a presence across India, international trade now accounts for 25% of its total business. Export destinations over the past year have included Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Dubai, and African markets such as Nairobi, Tanzania, and Conakry.

Domestic performance has remained consistent, with Bhurjee noting the sale of three sets of machines within the final quarter of the financial year. The dual profile machine on display was the final order for the month and was diverted to the exhibition floor prior to its scheduled dispatch to the client.

Bhurjee noted that the exhibition, organised through association efforts, provides a single platform for Indian manufacturers to display their engineering capabilities. He observed that the event allows visitors to assess the current technical standards of the pan-India manufacturing sector in one location.
