“It has been a few months since we completed installation of the machine. To be fair we had a few initial apprehension about the investment especially with regards to its ability to handle lower substrate. I can confidently tell you that the machine has been extremely capable of solving this problem for us,” said G Venugopal, executive director, Sterling Print House.

“The challenge with lower substrate is to have greater accuracy which Redlands have provided in this machine. We have been successful with even substrates as low as 130 gsm full, double demy lamination,” explained Venugopal.

The machine with lamination speed of 10 to 60 m/min can handle paper sizes from 350mm x 350mm to 1040mm x 740mm. The listed paper thickness capability is 157 to 500 g/m2 and has a maximum lamination width of 1040mm.

“This machine is unique because it is one of the few available vertical laminators with hot knife option in India. Despite this, the pricing was as competitive as the other rotary knife laminators that were available to us,” said Venugopal.

“To top the technical benefits, the fact that the machine is locally made and for us the support comes from Thrissur makes it highly recommendable. The support and handholding from Redlands team has been extremely professional since early on we had teething issues due to our lack of understanding of a few features of the machine,” he concluded.

Earlier this year Sterling Print House also procured Mohr 56 eco-programmable paper guillotine from Redlands Machinery.
