The managing partner of  Coronation Works, one of the oldest print companies in Sivakasi, is a noted educationist and a tennis player.

Chidambaram's focus is  improving the quality of education at The Sivakasi Institute of Printing Technology which was founded in 1977. The diploma in print technology has been training students in multiple processes with special emphasis on offset and flexo printing.

Chidambaram stated: "The members of SMPA have contributed to the Institute with the setting up of print and paper testing laboratories."

Sel Jegat has donated a pre-press processor from Dupont; and so have vendors like Redlands and Flexo Image Graphics. Others have "committed" kit and technology.

Chidambaram ensured there was a good presence of students at TechNova's Digital Yatra which saw a presentation by Deepak Chawla under the TechNova Open University of Change project. During his presentation Chawla provided an overview about CTP for 150 printers, 30 students and staff.

TechNova has hosted sessions in other cities to help audiences "get an unbiased view about thermal, violet, UV and inkjet CTP systems."
