Siegwerk’s intervention involved demolishing the old structure and constructing a new facility with essential amenities such as classrooms, furniture, fans, and blackboards

The school, once in a state of severe disrepair, has seen enrolment rise by over 50 students following the renovation, growing from 170 to nearly 220. Previously, deteriorating infrastructure was forcing senior students to transfer to distant schools, and many girls had to end their education after class eight due to safety and distance concerns. Teachers feared further drops in enrolment and the disruption of academic schedules during the rainy season, when the building became unsafe.

Siegwerk’s intervention involved demolishing the old structure and constructing a new facility with essential amenities such as classrooms, furniture, fans, and blackboards. The improved environment has encouraged families to keep their children enrolled locally and has enabled senior students, particularly girls, to continue their studies.

“Education is a vital driver of social progress, and we are committed to creating environments where every child can learn without obstacles,” said Manjusha Singh, CEO, Siegwerk India Region. “In smaller towns and villages, inadequate school infrastructure often forces children to travel long distances or drop out entirely. Girls are particularly affected when safety and basic amenities like toilets become concerns. By rebuilding this school, we have created a safe and functional space that allows children to focus on learning, parents to feel confident about their child’s education, and teachers to teach without interruption. Our goal is to ensure that location or infrastructure never limits a child’s opportunity to learn and succeed.”

Siegwerk plans to enhance the campus further with solar power and digital learning facilities in the coming years. The school will remain under the company’s CSR program for a 4–5 year observation period before being fully classified as an adopted institution.

This initiative is part of Siegwerk India’s wider CSR portfolio, which includes improving rural healthcare facilities, supporting skill development for youth, and promoting environmental sustainability. Across these programs, the company has positively impacted thousands of lives.

With the government school renovation, Siegwerk continues to build on its vision of fostering education, safety, and opportunity for underserved communities.
