Registrations open for Publishing Next 2015

The annual publishing event, Publishing Next, has announced registrations open for​ the sixth edition of​ its two-day conference scheduled for 11-12 September at Panaji, Goa.

The conference is a nexus for publishing professionals; old-school, e-publishers, and publishing entrepreneurs, authors, literary agents, printers and content developers alike. 
 
Like in the previous editions, during the conference, panel discussions and workshops pertaining the present and future of trends in publishing and the role of state in the publishing industry will be held. This year, the panel discussions are titled: Trends and new models in academic book publishing, Future content: The re-imagination of content, The changing library: State of library infrastructure in India, The role of publishers in Indian languages,  Growing the publishing business: strategies, technologies, skills, The nuts and bolts of self publishing. 
 
Currently, the workshops scheduled during the conference include using social media to market books, on podcasting, the process and benefits of digitising the backlist, and understanding copyright, contracts and licensing.
 
According to Leonard Fernandes of CinnamomTeal Publishing, the organiser of the conference, the modalities of the speakers and additional workshop are being worked out.
 
This year, following the success of its first edition, the Publishing Next Awards has realigned and added categories to its existong five. The seven categories this year are: Publisher of the year, Publishing innovation of the year, Bookstore of the year, Printed book of the year, Printed book of the year (children's book), Digital book of the year, and Best cover of the year.
 
The submission for the awards will be open 1 June onwards. 
 
The registration for the conference ends on 10 September and the fee is Rs 3500 per seat. However, interested delegates can avail the early bird offer till 15 August for a fee of Rs 2500 per seat.
