Rajhans has ordered two Gallus ECS 340 with a configuration of 12-colour along with online UV, cold foiling, screen printing and die cutting. This order also includes a six-colour Heidelberg XL 75 printing press with online UV coating and four interdeck dryers. In addition, there is a nine-colour gravure printing press from Expert with turn bar and other equipment.

Akash Balachandra, director and second generation at Rajhans Enterprises, said, “We want to make our company a one stop solution for our customers. With fewer number of label printers in the southern region of India, we saw this as an opportunity for us to enter this vertical. With this investment, we are strengthening our services to our existing packaging clientele.”

“Being a new segment, we have a lot to do in this part,” added Balachandra.

The first Gallus is supposed to be commissioned next month and the second in the first quarter of next year. The Heidelberg is expected to be delivered in the first month of next year.

A Balachandra, printer and publisher, Rajhans Enterprises, said, “My son Akash has recently joined the business and the packaging printing segment will be handled by him. We have ordered equipment of Rs 26-crore and plan to add more equipment for label production."

Balachandra informed that the plant will be operational by the first quarter of 2014.
