PrintWeek Awards 2022: Thomson Press wins Book Printer of the Year (Print-on-Demand )

As print-on-demand gains popularity among publishers big and small, especially during and after the pandemic, the book printing major Thomson Press has proven itself to be an able provider of bespoke book printing.

As the samples prove, Thomson can handle books of all kinds, whether it is a legal tome, a personalised book, a children’s photobook, or even a Bible.    

The run length of Mergers et al for LexisNexis is 20 copies. Printed on 60-gsm superfine NS, the book contains gold foiling and hard case roundback. The cover has PVC material in maroon. 

The run length of Anything for Vickey is 40 copies. Printed on HP Indigo, the post-press features include gold foiling, gilding, lamination and varnish. The cover was printed on 170-gsm art paper and the inside pages on 160-gsm Rendezvous high print.  

The run length of the Zomi Bible was 40 copies. It is printed on a Xeikon machine on 40-gsm Bible paper. The cover is printed on 200-gsm Tybek non-tearable paper. 

The run length for Big Shared Reading Book for Creoville was one copy. The A2 size book is printed on a Xeikon machine on 903-gsm art paper. Post-press work includes sewing, drilling, and hard case binding.
