Ashwani Thapar of Pearl Printers stated, “I can rely on this machine for a wide range of tasks. It performs essential jobs and accommodates various paper sizes. My only concern is that spare parts can sometimes be quite expensive.”
Thapar commended the service from Provin, saying, “In case of a machine breakdown, it is promptly fixed. Provin handles these issues remarkably well. We are very satisfied with RMGT; the value for money is excellent.”
The RMGT machine allows Pearl Printers to stay competitive in the publishing and commercial work sector. The five-colour + coater machine has been installed considering the printing requirements for coffee table books. Pearl Printers works in a unique way with a huge base of clients and the service they provide to their clients is unique by giving value addition. In this way, they not only retain the clients, this results in the induction of new clients by referral from existing ones.
Ashwani Thapar began his career as a helper in one of Delhi’s printing presses. Despite having formal education only up to Class 11, he gained experience in all sections of the printing press rising to the level of press manager before plunging in to start his own printing unit. Pearl Printers was established in 1999 in a small 2000-sqft space in Okhla. Now, it operates in an area in excess of 30,000-sqft.
Pearl Printers specialises in printing coffee table books, magazines, packaging for various products, and diaries, almanacs, and calendars for schools nationwide. Initially, Pearl Printers operated with two single-colour presses, gradually upgrading as profits increased.
Thapar's strategy has always been to observe market trends. “During the pandemic, I noticed a gradual shift from offset printing to packaging. Consequently, we added die-cutters and folder-gluers to our portfolio,” he explained.
Pearl Printers launched a new division to manage mono cartons, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics under the brand name Varun Printline.
Thapar met Provin Technos’ director Vinay Kaushal in 2014, and the two developed a strong partnership. “We purchased our first RMGT machine in 2014, followed by a second in 2017, and have had no complaints. The machine operates smoothly, fulfilling all our requirements.”
Vinay Kaushal of Provin Technos mentioned, “Our machines facilitate ease of operation, which is our pride. All our machines offer excellent value for the machine and the lowest cost of ownership in the segments. The machine comes with a standard warranty of two years, which indicates the strength in manufacturing technology of RMGT backed by a strong after-sales support team spread across India. The current machine installation process took about a week, and the machine became fully operational after ten days. We appreciate Thapar’s ongoing support and trust.”
Ashwani Thapar’s son, Varun, is getting trained to take over the company in future. At 22 years old, he has completed his master’s degree recently but has been involved with Pearl Printers since he was in Class 10. As his father, he has been trained in all departments of his printing press managing the entire packaging business of the company.
It is heartening to see a young person taking the lead in learning and taking Pearl Printers to new heights. “This is my passion, and I aim to make my father proud,” Varun said.
