Paperex to commence on 3 December

Over 30,000 visitors and more than 700 exhibitors from 29 countries will congregate for the 14th edition of Paperex, slated from 3-6 December 2019 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

During the curtain raiser of the trade show in New Delhi, JP Narain, VP, Indian Paper and Manufacturers Association and CEO of Century Paper, said, “Paper industry is going through the transformation phase and few big paper companies are expanding to meet their regional-, product- or category-specific demand. Overall, paper consumption is projected to increase to 24 million tonnes in 2024-25 from 15 million tonnes currently.”

A Paperex press note shared with PrintWeek stated there are 462 paper mills in India producing close to 300 lakh tonnes of paper per annum. And the Indian paper exports in the last three years have grown from 6.6 lakh tonnes to 15 lakh tonnes. The four-day event will comprise of B2B conferences and expert sessions that emphasis on environment, green chemistry, and recycling. More than 1,100 MSME companies from India are expected to witness the paper show.

“I believe there will be a consolidation within the industry and we will see more players involved in the process of mergers and acquisitions to complement each other. Since it’s a manpower-driven industry, the same will generate jobs directly and indirectly. Contributing to the nation's development, India's quality paper producers serve the need for printing, writing, packaging, publishing, and notebooks and stationery sectors,” said Narain.

Paperex 2019 showcases its capabilities and opportunities to the global end-users coming from different industry segments. It gathers three Union Ministers, trade commissioners from 14 countries, CEOs of 30 public-listed companies, and more than 200 international companies on a single platform.

Paperex will be held concurrently with Tissueex and Corrugex. The events will be open for both business and trade visitors from 10 am to 6 pm till 6 December 2019.
