PackPlus 2018: Pelican Rotoflex showcases India-made Cerutti R-982
Rajkot, Gujarat-based Pelican Rotoflex, the leading manufacturer of rotogravure printing presses, displayed its new gravure press Cerutti R-982 during PackPlus 2018, held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 25 to 28 July. Pelican has manufactured the machine locally with technology support from Italy-based Cerutti. The machine was launched at PlastIndia 2018 held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Earlier this year, Cerutti Packaging Equipment and Pelican had entered into an agreement to manufacture Cerutti’s rotogravure press, Cerutti R-982 (with both shafted and shaft-less cylinder chucking systems), at Pelican’s engineering facility for the Indian market as well as for its customers in the overseas territories.
According to Hiren Solanki, marketing executive, Pelican Rotoflex, so far enquiries have been positive about the machine from the India market as well as Pelican’s overseas market.
On the other hand, Solanki said, the company manufactures more than 20 rotogravure printing presses annually. “We offer the complete set, including laminator (solvent or without solvent), printing press and slitter-rewinder,” he added.
Now, Pelican is developing flexo printing machinery for large sacks like cement bags or fertiliser bags.
