OPA, GJUS&T join hands for a brighter future

The MoU is aimed at fostering skill development, outcome-based training, research, internships, and placement opportunities for students

The Offset Printers’ Association (OPA) and Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUS&T), Hisar, signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 14 July 2025. 

This landmark agreement promises to reshape the landscape of printing and packaging education, not just in India but across the globe, igniting hope and opportunity for countless students and professionals.

The MoU, signed in the office of the vice-chancellor at GJUS&T, is aimed at fostering skill development, outcome-based training, research, internships, and placement opportunities for students. It also paves the way for international collaboration, enabling student and faculty exchange programmes with premier overseas printing and packaging institutions through OPA’s vast global network. 

The ceremony was graced by luminaries from both sides. Representing GJUS&T, Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, vice-chancellor, signed the MoU, while Prof Kamal Mohan Chopra, general secretary of OPA, represented the association. 

The agreement was witnessed by Dr Vijay Kumar, registrar, and Prof Namita Singh, dean of international affairs from GJUS&T, alongside Sudhir Chopra from OPA. Other notable attendees included Prof Vinod Chhokar, technical advisor to the vice-chancellor, Prof Sandeep Arya, dean of FTE, Prof Archana Kapoor, associate dean, Dr Vandana Gupta, chairperson, and Dr Bijender Kaushal, associate professor of the Department of Printing.

In his address, Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi articulated the significance of this collaboration. “OPA is a leading association with an unparalleled reputation and a robust network of international printing and packaging institutions,” he said. “Through this MoU, we can showcase GJUS&T and our Department of Printing and Packaging to the world, attracting international students and fostering opportunities for our students to secure placements and pursue higher education abroad.” 

He emphasised that OPA’s nationwide presence would amplify GJUS&T’s reach across India, while its global connections would open doors to prestigious opportunities for students. 

Prof Kamal Mohan Chopra, reaffirmed OPA’s unwavering dedication to the growth of the printing and packaging industry. “At OPA, we are ready to contribute in every way possible to advance this vital sector,” he declared. “It is our privilege to collaborate with GJUS&T, an institution renowned for its quality education and home to the nation’s premier Department of Printing. Together, we will work tirelessly to shape a brighter future for students and elevate the global printing and packaging industry.”
