More than 150 exhibitors at In-Store Asia 2019

The 12th edition of In-Store Asia, held in partnership with EuroShop Dusseldorf from 14 to 16 March 2019 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, saw more than 150 exhibitors spread over 12,000-sq/m of exhibition space.

Vasant Jante, founder and director, In-Store Asia, said, “In-Store Asia has essentially helped the retail sector leverage innovative new solutions and ideas in retail design, technology, retail display, visual merchandising and in-store marketing.”

The trade show comprised of a two-day convention which included top names from the Indian and international retail industry who shed light on retail design and retail solutions segments, in a view to helping business decision makers in the retail ecosystem.

Jamshed Daboo, managing director, Trent Hypermarket, delivered the keynote address at the convention. He said, “Even today although we keep talking about customer experience, it has not become an all-pervasive force. Customer experience has to be addressed more comprehensively.”

Werner Dornscheidt, president and CEO, Messe Dusseldorf, highlighted the importance of In-Store Asia for the retail community and said that he is confident that In-Store Asia 2020 will have a good number of participants from Europe.

Thomas Schlitt, managing director, Messe Düsseldorf India, talked about the unprecedented growth projected for retail solution providers in India backed by innovations in store design. “In-Store Asia can be a game-changer for the VM and in-store marketing and sector’s growth," said Schlitt.

The trade show also hosted panel discussions that provided insights on topics such as the rise, growth and plateau of the Indian retail and design industry, and in-store displays, the evolution in buying and market scenario, amongst others.

In addition, In-Store Asia 2019 hosted the 11th edition of the VM&RD Awards on 15 March, which saw Atmof Architect bag the Store of the Year Award for its Fold 2.0 of ABC Emporio project.

Out of the 321 entries from 97 companies for the VM&RD Awards 2019, 133 entries were selected for the final evaluation.

Jante said, “The judging process involved a specially designed digital platform and a robust scoring system that is error proof and ensures consistency.”

Four Dimensions Retail Design and Restore Design bagged eight awards each.
