MIPT students gain hands-on experience at Ugar Labels

The visit took place at the Ugar and Vikram facility in the Ramtekdi Industrial Estate, Hadapsar. 

Mandar Mukund Ugar, chairman and managing director of Ugar Labels and Vikram Printers, said, "We showcased the real-world dynamics of the printing and packaging industry."

The day began with a welcome and overview of their operations. As students stepped into the facility, they were taken on a guided tour that covered every stage of the production process. They saw firsthand how customer artwork is received and processed, how designs are prepared for print, and how each job moves through the offset and label printing divisions. They were particularly fascinated by the intricate finishing processes that turn raw prints into polished products ready for delivery.

The students also toured the warehouse and various departments, gaining a complete view of the logistical and operational aspects of running a large-scale printing enterprise. Ugar said, "The fifty students were impressed by the seamless integration of technology and craftsmanship, noting how each team works together to ensure quality and efficiency. From advanced machinery to meticulous quality control, every corner of the factory offered a learning opportunity."

By the end of the tour, many students expressed how the experience broadened their understanding of the industry. Seeing the real-world application of what they learn in class not only inspired them but also gave them a clearer vision of potential career paths.
