“The Indian market is a great opportunity for us, “said Mandar Nalawade, general manager, sales and marketing, Mimaki India. “We are a bit late but finally, we are here to serve the market. Since 2001, we have an installation base of 800 printers in different segments.”

Nalawade said the company is still at the nascent stage and plans to complete its India setup by the end of the year. “We are also planning a showroom of our products in Gurgaon,” he added.

Mimaki entertains customers from three segments, namely, sign graphics, industrial printing and textile and apparel. In India, the wide-format printers manufacturing company will handle its textile and apparel business itself and will give sign graphics and industrial printing businesses to its channel partners. According to Nalawade, the selection of channel partners is underway.

Mimaki is also planning to establish a team of 15 people to focus on after-sales services.

At the Media Expo, the company displayed its wide-format printers JV-150, JV-300, CJV-150, UJF3042FX, CGSRIII, TS300P-1800 and SIJ-320UV.
