The agreement was signed by Harjinder Singh, general secretary, LPA and Takashi Imaizumi, director, sales, Toyo Japan, in Lucknow on 28 September 2014.

According to Singh, supply of printing inks at economical prices, by which printers can reduce the overall cost of their print production, will be one of the major advantages of the agreement.

About the other advantages of the agreement, Singh added, “With the agreement, prices of printing inks will be locked for at least a year’s time and with the help of standardisation certificates, association’s printers will be able to increase their business in overseas markets as well.”

Members from the Gorakhpur Master Printers’ Association and Kanpur Printers Association also attended the event. The event was attended by more than 100 printers of the region.

“Presently, around 80 printers will benefit from this agreement. We will be getting printing inks at around 25% less price compared to the open market. The agreement is for different types of offset printing inks,” Singh said.

On the occasion, the Toyo team also organised knowledge sessions on the standardisation process for better efficiency and cost reduction for more than 100 attendees.

As per the terms of the agreement, the association will have to order at least five tonnes of printing inks every month.

Print News, the association’s quarterly magazine, was also launched at the event.
