The S1 model, which runs at the speed of 150m/min, has been booked by Sierra Leone-based Westflex Company.

Nabil Bahsoon, director, Westflex Company, said, “I saw the machine during Labelexpo Brussels 2017 and I was convinced that it was the machine for us.”

Westflex is traditionally into commercial and book printing. With S1, a shaftless full servo narrow web flexo press for printing flexible packaging and self-adhesive labels, the company will now venture into a new territory.

“We will be producing labels for soft drinks and water bottles. Though my country has a less demand of labels, we decided to venture into narrow web as no one is doing labels on narrow web. We will be the first company to install a narrow web flexo press in Sierra Leone. We hope it will be a good project for us,” Bahsoon added.

Mutitec will ship the machine to the West African country by February 2019.

Amit Ahuja, managing director, Multitec Aids, said as all print units, infeed and outfeed of the machine are shaftless servo-driven, it ensures that average downtime is cut to a minimum. It also reduces changeover rates while offering highest graphic quality.”

The S1’s automation technology can improve productivity, reduce waste and increase print quality while making the converter less dependent on skilled operators, he added.

Multitec Aids has an installation base of more than 300 narrow web flexo printing presses.
