Interlabels strengthens its operations in north with a new Gidue press at its plant in Baddi

Interlabels Industries in Baddi has invested in a new Gidue narrow-web flexo press as part of its expansion plans.

The Gidue will produce quality labels and enable the company to expand its turnover, which managing director Gautam Kothari said "is currently on target".

"Earlier, the print requirement from North India was fulfilled through Mumbai and Baddi. The Mumbai unit provided 35-40% the services for the print requirement of the North market. Now with the installation of the new Gidue, we will be in a position to provide 35-40% service from Baddi," Kothari said.

"The Gidue will assist with the continued growth of label production, and will reduce lead time by increasing production capacity."

The label sector has been a growth area for Interlabels. Kothari claimed that better quality at faster production rates will ensure Interlabels has the capacity to meet the market demand.

According to Kothari, the Indian label industry will grow by  12% to 15% in 2012.

He said: "Our third quarter results showed the growth of 15% as compared to second quarter."

Kothari's plan is to continue to market the business's services effectively, while benefiting from word of mouth and customer referrals. "Our objective is not to be a victim of our own success. I want the highest quality of product, delivered at the agreed time, to the right place," Kothari added.

Interlabels which established in 1983, has in-house   label stock manufacturing facility backed by special inspection rewinding machine Rotoflex from Canada and AVT Helios from Germany.

Interlabel operates from three locations - Chennai, Vasai near Mumbai and Baddi. It has a team of 200 which looks into cosmetics, toiletries, lubes, pharmaceutical and detergents.
