Heidelberg’s virtual Innovation Week begins today

The first in a series of virtual and face-to-face events Heidelberg is set to host in 2020-21, kicked off today. The Innovation Week, to run until 23 October 2020 under the slogan – Unfold your potential – will see Heidelberg showcase products that focus on packaging, labels and commercial printing, including autonomous printing, end-to-end solutions, smart print shop and push-to-stop.

In early July 2020, Heidelberg decided to pull out of Drupa 2021, where it was one of the major exhibitors with presence in the brand new Hall 1 at the Messe Dusseldorf along with partners Masterwork Machinery and Muller Martini. The company had then decided that it will now focus on new, virtual trade fair concepts and regional events.

In his welcome video, Ludwig Allgoewer, global head of sales and marketing, said, I would rather stand in front of you, in one of our Print Media Center in Wiesloch-Walldorf, welcome you personally, shake hands, talk to you about the trends in our industry, discuss new business models and all solution for them. “But changed conditions require different settings. Hence, we decided to use what the digital world offers today.

Over the next five days, visitors to the Heidelberg virtual event will experience digital product presentations, as well as interactive expert discussion, where it will cover offerings for commercial printing, folding carton production and label production, focusing on its customer’s competitive advantage.

“During the five days of innovation week you will experience what Heidelberg as technology leader is capable of,” said Allgoewer. “We are the ones who can provide you with solutions for your entire production process from quotation to invoice. We help with the digitalisation of your business, because it is the key to automatic production, and therefore to faster and even simpler workflow.
