EFI announces three new Suites; targets corrugation, publication and quick print segments

The announcement was made by Gaby Matsliach, general manager and senior vice president, EFI Productivity Software at Connect 2016 in Las Vegas on 20 January.

Gaby said, “We spent last year on improving ecosystem integration and transformed the way that we look this space in terms offering an end-to-end perspective. We realised that end-to-end workflows would be different for different sub-markets of printing and packaging, so the plan is to identify the right ones for each sub-segment and develop products and certify them.”

“We recognised opportunity in corrugated packaging market and acquired the knowledge required to optimise our offerings,” said Gaby.

Expected in Q2 2016, the corrugated workflow combines ERP and manufacturing execution system. So not only does it take care of business aspects of corrugation, but also the looks after the production: scheduling, planning, data collection, stock inventory management, shipment planning, supply chain execution etc.

The Publication Print Suite is an enterprise solution targeted at publication and newspaper markets. It encompasses sheetfed, web-fed as well as digital technologies. It includes estimating, planning, scheduling, tracking, and production.

“The underlying ERP in the Publication Suite is selected based on best fit to customer needs: Monarch or Technique ERP,” added Gaby.

EFI’s Quick Print Suite is an all SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) cloud-based offering. Gaby said, “In the software world many offerings are moving to the cloud. And we see it as our obligation to provide that option to you as well. We will continue to invest in cloud-based capabilities and on that front Quick Print Suite is the first move.”

The Quick Print Suite targeted at small retail print shops includes eCommerce digital front end, Quick Print MIS (PrintSmith Vision), scheduling and Fiery integration. “From order acquisition to delivery. That’s end-to-end,” commented Gaby.

“The promise behind Productivity Suite strategy is to be able to provide end-to-end optimised workflows and minimise the headache of putting all the pieces together. The idea was to move ahead from a bunch of products to offer end-to-end capabilities,” said Gaby.
