“We spent a year looking at all kinds of big and small engines for good quality emboss and foiling. JetVarnish was the only enhancement press which ticked all our boxes,” said P Muthukumarvel, owner of Dinesh Colour Lab. He runs the business along with his wife M Annapoornam and son Dinesh Selvan.

Started in 2001, the setup consists of four Noritsu engines and a Konica Minolta 71hc and also a range of finishing equipment.

“There is always demand to offer some innovation in the album  making market. Rightly so since its installation our  album business has seen an increase of 18% primarily due to its ability to enhance album wrappers, boxes and also the possibility to do gold foiling,” said Muthukumarvel.

The  digital enhancement press  can do spot UV coating on page sizes varying from A4 to 36.4x104cm with a maximum print speed of 2298 A3 pages an hour. The machine is also  equipped with Artificial Intelligence SmartScanner (AIS) that creates an automatic varnish and hot foil registration for inkjet heads over the preprinted sheet.

“The investment has in fact helped us take the plunge into the commercial market and we plan to provide innovative solutions using digital enhancement for business cards, invitation cards, personalised birthday cards etc.,” he said.

“The quality of the press added together with the sales and support from Konica Minolta especially from S R Vasudevan has us considering KM-1 as an investment in the near future apart from adding another JetVarnish,” he concluded.
