S Kumar-Zonten has further solidified its dominance in the label and packaging sector by securing several orders on the third day of Pamex 2026. The latest deal sees Vadodara-based Dark Horse Impressions, a newcomer to the cigarette carton and label industry, investing in Zonten’s heavy-duty flat-bed die-cutting system. This specific machinery is engineered to handle the rigorous demands of 300-gsm folding boxboard alongside standard self-adhesive labels, providing a versatile foundation for the startup's entry into the market.
Hukam Singh, director of Dark Horse Impressions, noted that the decision was driven by Zonten’s global track record and specialised reputation for cigarette carton converting and printing machines in China. According to Singh, the equipment is uniquely tailored to meet the exacting tolerances and high-speed requirements of tobacco packaging, which remains one of the most demanding segments of the converting industry.
In another development at the exhibition, S Kumar-Zonten secured an order for its first 550-mm ZMQ IML converting machine featuring a one-metre length capacity. This technology was acquired by Royalex Himalaya Inx of Mangrol, Surat. Managing director Bharat Buha and director Riyancee Buha visited the Zonten plant to evaluate the technology before deciding to integrate it into their operations as they expand from gravure printing into the IML label business. This machine is specifically designed to cater to large-format IML labels for 50-litre paint and oil buckets.
The event opened with a flurry of activity for the company, which has already announced successful deals with Parvathi Labels, Shanti Labels, A2 Labels, and Tanishq Packaging of Ankleshwar. These consecutive wins highlight a growing trend among Indian converters to opt for Zonten’s robust engineering and the localised support provided by the S Kumar-Zonten team.
As Pamex 2026 progresses, the company's consistent performance underscores its commitment to quality and its ability to bridge the gap between high-performance manufacturing and the specific needs of the Indian market.
