Ahmedabad-based packaging specialist Ansapack has strengthened its post-press capabilities with the acquisition of the Wenhong WH 1050SF automatic hot foil stamping and die-cutting machine. The deal was concluded during the ongoing Pamex exhibition at the Zhongke India stand, reflecting a strategic move by Ansapack to address the escalating requirements of the coloured carton and sustainable packaging markets.
The company plans to leverage the machine's high-pressure capabilities to enhance the visual appeal of its branded carton range.
The Wenhong WH 1050SF is designed as a total solution for the coloured carton segment. Its Japanese-designed feeder and a working pressure of 400-tonnes allow it to process materials ranging from 80-gsm paper to 2000-gsm board with a precision of +/- 0.075-mm. This versatility is crucial for Ansapack, which handles diverse jobs, including intricate folding cartons and heavy 5-mm corrugated boxes.
To ensure persistent quality across every sheet, the machine is equipped with 12 independent heating zones. This granular control prevents cold spots and ensures uniform foil transfer, which is essential for large-format luxury packaging. The foil pulling system is equally sophisticated, featuring five shafts, including three longitudinal and two transverse units. This configuration allows for complex foil designs to be executed in a single pass, significantly reducing make-ready times and energy consumption.
One of the standout features of the WH 1050SF is its efficiency in running zero-gripper jobs at high speeds. This capability minimises material waste, aligning with the industry's shift toward more sustainable production practices. The machine operates at a design speed of 8,000-sheets per hour, ensuring that high-volume orders are met without compromising on the fine details of foil application.
Zhongke India continues to serve as the strategic partner for Tokyo Wenhong Machinery in the region. By offering a comprehensive range that includes die-cutters, litho laminators, folder gluers, and window patching machines, the partnership aims to provide Indian converters with the infrastructure needed for high-demand segments.
The acquisition by Ansapack highlights the growing trend of Indian packaging firms investing in high-end automation to stay competitive. As brands increasingly look for plastic-free, premium unboxing experiences, the ability to combine heavy-duty die-cutting with high-fidelity foiling on various substrates is becoming a key market differentiator.
