The founder of Shree Balaji Bindings, Rahul Agarwal said, said the new machine has made life much simpler for the team in the printroom, which handles a high volume of short run binding jobs off the press.
Balaji Bindings specialises in printing and binding for publications, especially educational books. Agarwal said, "We are targeting Meerut-based publications." Also, thanks to the perfect binder, Balaji is focussing on short-run books printing binding for private institutions. One area of focus is children's books.
The factory which is busy with a two-shift system has notched up a turnover of Rs 10-crore. One of its USPs is quality books and in-time service for a publisher. Agwarwal told PrintWeek, "We are very happy to make a book on time for each and every production schedule." That's how Balaji delivered the NCERT textbooks even though the schedule was gruelling and it was "a tight deadline" Agarwal said, "Failure would lead to penalties as it was mentioned in the official tender document."
The six-clamp BW@2500 perfect binder has been backed by tech-support from the Bindwel team. Agarwal said, "My team at Balaji is extremely delighted with the service support." He alluded to the fact that when spare parts were required on an urgent basis, it was delivered successfully by the Bindwel team on a consistent basis.
"It is operating like a dream," Agarwal added. "It has made an impact on efficiency and cost savings. Our book binding process is much quicker, so much so we can now take more work on it." Now Shree Balaji hopes to expand into other markets and consider new opportunities, especially in publishing.
