Arun Dhote was the son of Late Ramkrishna Kisan Dhote, who was a partner at Bombay Fine Arts in Byculla, a prominent press that operated until 1971. Bombay Fine Arts, owned by the Dhote family, was one of the largest presses of its kind, part of an illustrious chain in Asia started by Ramkrishna’s eldest brother, the pioneer Late Kashiram Kisan Dhote of Gondia. After 1971, the family's legacy in printing continued with the establishment of Asiart Printers, where Arun Dhote played a crucial role alongside his brothers.
Tushar Dhote, past president of the Mumbai Mudrak Sangh (MMS) and chairman of Pamex 2024 (AIFMP), said, "Arun Dhote was more than just an uncle to me; he was a guide, philosopher, and inspiration." Tushar added, "I fondly remember visiting his thriving and busy factory, Bombay Fine Arts and Asia Fine Arts, with over 300 workers, and witnessing his technical and administrative brilliance firsthand."
Tushar added, "What struck me most about Arun Kaka was his humility and genuine care for his staff and workers. The Ganpati Pooja celebrations at his Malabar Hills residence were legendary, bringing together the entire Dhote clan and friends for a joyous celebration of tirtha, prasad, and a delicious vegetarian meal."
Industry associates and contemporaries said, "Arun Dhote will be remembered as a kind-hearted and decent human being." He is survived by his wife Anita Kaku, as well as Anup and Rashmi.
