Established in the 1970s, Okhla Industrial Area is a hub of printing in Delhi. Divided into three phases, the Okhla Industrial Area houses industries such as readymade garment exporters and leather garment exporters, pharmaceutical manufacturing units, plastic and packaging industries, machinery manufacturers, call centres, MNCs, bank and others, and a large number of printing units. Most of these are located in phase I and II, with very few presses setting shop in phase III.

There are more than 200 offset printers running their operations in Okhla. These range from printers who have single-colour to multicolour printing presses. There are also a number of digital printers. Most of these printing companies are involved in commercial and books print production. A handful of them are also involved in packaging.
