Me & My: Canon ImagePress V1350

Could you tell us a bit about your company?  
We are a printing business specialising in commercial work and photo albums. We produce brochures, catalogues, calendars, books, wallpapers, study materials, and other similar items. Previously, we had three Canon ImagePress C10000VP machines. Recently we replaced one with the new ImagePress V1350. Our setup is fully equipped to handle complete production, and we print over two-lakh A3 sheets in colour each month. We’re planning to add a second ImagePress V1350 by the end of this year.

When did you start using the ImagePress V1350?
We’ve been using the press for the past two months and have already printed over 2.5-lakh sheets with it.

What about the Canon ImagePress V1350 do you like?
One can print on two sides of a sheet up to 500-gsm in a single pass. This makes things a lot easier. Jobs are finished at a faster pace and the quality has also improved greatly. Underneath matte paper, the depth of the product looks lovely. 

Why did you decide to use the Canon ImagePress V1350?  
We looked at a variety of machines in the market. With this machine, all the reviews were exceptional. All previous customers had only good things to say about it. The machine offers perfect registration on the front and back printing and customers are happy when we give that sort of product to them.

What features tilted you in favour of the ImagePress V1350?
You can print several kinds of special media through this machine. Even with regard to paper, it works with up to 500-gsm, which no other machine can do at the moment. By adding this machine, we can offer short-run packaging jobs to our customers, especially rigid boxes and boxes for multiple applications.

How exactly have these features aided in your production? 
We have a new customer base who are bringing in new media with them. Our machine is still relatively new, so we have only just begun to get recognition, but there is a definite improvement. It is equipped with latest E9000 Hyper RIP Fiery which makes it quicker to use.  

Which applications do you use the V1350 for?
Commercial printing activities such as brochures, packaging stickers and visiting cards, along with packaging jobs.

If there’s a critical printing job that has come your way, would you rely on this to see it through?
Without a doubt. We can rely on it completely for quality. I don’t think any other machine can provide you with such great quality. The rate of customer satisfaction thus far is 100%.

How easy is it to use and handle? 
It is easy to use. Anyone can print on it easily, and the software is also easy to comprehend. Canon provided us with engineers who showed us the ropes and the company has continuously been with us all throughout, helping in every way. It is also similar to the previous machine that we have, the Canon ImagePress 10000.

Would you say that it offers value for money?  
Yes. Absolutely. It is 100% worth the money. Currently, we have one V1350 and two C10000VP. Our production has been excellent, since the machines are so fast. We can have an entire post-press setup to finish the job.

Who do you think the Canon ImagePress V1350 is right for? 
The machine provides all the services that customers need. It ensures consistent printing colours by using inline spectrophotometer sensors to automatically adjust colours, and correct colours with the real time multi-DAT colour correction mechanism. It also offers front to back registration, an efficient cooling unit and air vacuum feed system.
