Speaking to PrintWeek, Rishi Doshi, director, Megastar Products, said, “The main reason to opt for Maxima is our trust in Excel Machinery’s service and quality. We were impressed with the smaller size die-cutter that we saw about four years ago in an exhibition. And when we realised the same sturdiness and durability is being offered in a larger size; we decided to book it.”
The Maxima HS1020 boasts a speed of 7,500-sph. According to Jitendra Patel of Excel Machinery, the machine provides good cutting and creasing quality. In addition, it enables a less makeready time, and also offers punching and stripping operations.
The machine will be an addition to the wide range of post-press equipment Megastar currently houses. It already comprises four of Bobst’s post-press kits.
Excel is set to install the machine at Megastar’s unit in three days, which elucidates Doshi’s thought process behind opting for an Indian manufacturer. He said, “The key benefit of an Indian manufacturer is the availability of spare parts, and prompt maintenance services. In addition, it saves the import time.”
Patel added, “We have increased our manufacturing capabilities by adding an additional 25,000-sqft space, and integration of the latest CNC equipment. This will enable us to boost our production speed from four months for manufacturing a HS 1020 large size machine to one machine per month.”
Doshi claimed that a label press and newer machine installations are in the pipeline, which will be housed in a new factory in Vasai. The unit is expected to be set up within a year.
