Khosla Printers goes for automation with Bobst

Sahibabad Industrial Area (Ghaziabad)-based Khosla Printers has installed a Bobst Novacut 106E die-cutter. This is the fourth Bobst machine at the Khosla shop floor. “With an association lasting over 12 years with Bobst, the Novacut has become a natural choice,” Sanjay Khosla, founder, Khosla Printers, said.

He added, “The Bobst team has been cooperative and supportive. Without them it won’t have been possible for us to touch the sky.”

Khosla Printers has increased automation on the shop floor with these machines and thus, has improved the production capacities, as the Novacut 106 E 3.0 can die-cut sheets up to 2,000-gsm and 4-mm thick corrugated board at the speed of 8000 sheets per hour.

Khosla said, “We had examined other cheaper options available, but on reliability, quality of output, prompt local service, and easy accessibility with the Bobst’s Indian team, I feel more secure with Bobst. Plus, having used Bobst over the years, we feel comfortable and thus, are ready to pay a premium.”

With this new investment, the company has replaced two of its semi-automatic corrugation lines with fully automatic lines which is fingerless. “After adding the two new lines, our conversion has doubled, and is expected to increase exponentially in the days to come,” he said. 

The company manufactures printed mono cartons both in Duplex and corrugation, folding box, using Heidelberg printing machines. “We have a complete unit for master cartons. We want to implement maximum automation in the plant,” he added.

The Novacut was installed around a month ago. It is equipped with auto stripping and die-cutting. “We had added another flute laminator and needed a die-cutter to cater to the increased production. We use it for E- and B- corrugation boards. We run the plant round-the-clock six days a week, and the Novacut for 12 hours a day. We convert more than two lakh sheets per day with a team of 220 people in a 5,000-sqm factory,” Khosla said.
