By 28 Jun 2020

While the country is still facing the challenges of the pandemic and the lockdown, this is the third month in the row where we have been working and creating more than hundred pages remotely.

This Sunday Column brings to you the highlights of the June 2020 issue of PrintWeek and WhatPackaging? This issue focuses on how print companies are responding to the pandemic in a creative way, and the strides the industry has taken in its quest for sustainability

The cover story - PrintWeek survey - found that with a cash crunch, no jobs in the market and with little help from the government, the print companies are left with drawing up their own strategies to lift themselves from effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The survey with 123 respondents examined the effects of the economic lockdown, and was conducted from 25 March to 30 April.

In the Tech Talk section, PrintWeek highlights seven-film firms who have displayed tremendous ingenuity in product development at the time of crisis, from producing wedding cards, masks and face shields to manufacturing PPEs.

In other Covid-19 related features, we have the story how India Post helped combat the lockdown; a special write-up on the publishing scenario by Thomas Abraham of Hachette India, and interviews with industry leaders on their takes on the crisis.

In the Environment section, PrintWeek looks at how print and packaging companies are positioning its sustainability quotient in times of climate change and global warming.

The WhatPackaging? cover story features 12 Kodak Flexcel NX customers, who walk us through their flexographic printing journey with success stories.

In the Covid-19 section, WhatPackaging? looks at the prevailing market trends, especially the possible effects of the pandemic in the FMCG industry. While, on the sustainability front, four industry leaders share insights on how to move forward in technology and green practices.

In addition, do watch out for Desmania’s rigid packaging design journey and the latest packaging and converting updates.

This and more in the June 2020 issue of PrintWeek, along the WhatPackaging? supplement, with news and features specific to the packing-printing industry.
