The company has used PrintPack India 2011 as a launch-pad into the production digital colour market with the unveiling of the C8000 Bizhup press.

KMBSI’s C8000 was first launched at Ipex 2010 and can output up to 80 colour prints a minute and has a top resolution of up to 1,200dpi using the manufacturer’s new Simitri HD toner.

This press is joined with other Bizhub product lines that include monochrome and colour printers at KMBSI’s three representatives’ stands, namely KMI Business Technologies, HCL Infosystems and Monotech Systems.

With the C8000, KMBSI is targeting the traditional offset printers who are looking to complement their presses with a digital production printer. "When the deadline is tight, time can make a difference for customer retention," said Raju Iyyer, general manager for sales and marketing division at KMBSI. "Here there are minimal make-readies, no need for wash-ups after printing and run lengths from as low as handful of copies can be printed, yet offer litho-like quality."

Besides the C8000, on display at the representatives stands were Bizhub Pros C6501, 1200/1500; Bizhub  presses C6000 and C7000, Bizhub C452 among others.

"The C452 is a popular model here in Delhi, we have sold 12 machines in Delhi so far. In the first two days of PrintPack India 2011, we have booked two more," said Nilesh Shah, managing director of the Mumbai-based representative KMI Business Technologies. "At Rs 6.5-lakh, it’s a new machine at pre-owned machine rates." KMI has a base of over 50 installation of presses in the C6500, 6501, C6000 and C7000 series.
