Toyo Arets will focus on food at the show. The company’s Stera range of food – UV/EB?LED series of inks and coating will hold a place of pride at the stand, which Prashant Atre, managing director at Toyo Arets, said, is aiming to make PrintWeek’s stall of the day during the show.

"Food packaging is the future and thus LMLO inks are an important part of the food packaging chain. Toyo Ink Europe are specialists in this segment of energy curing (UV/EB/LED inks and coatings)," said Atre.

An established product, the Stera range of inks and coatings undergo a series of enhancements based on new regulations in Swiss Ordinance and Eupia guidelines, informs Atre.

As the highlight of the products, Atre said, the low migration inks are intelligently formulated for modern high-speed printing onto plastic and paper boards. "These are developed for the fast curing, the enhanced richness of process colours, and superb ink-water balance coupled with low migration properties making these inks system essential key to successful food packaging printing on plastic and board."

For example, the Stera range of UV/EB/LED inks series conforms to the latest European norms (Swiss, Nestle, EuPiA). "They deliver the ultimate tool to print safe for the food packaging," highlighted Atre.

In the current situation of economic turbulence and rising costs, everyone is looking for new ideas, concepts, or product lines to improvise the profitability of their operations. There cannot be a better and fastest-growing market than food. Hence, it will be interesting for CEOs to visit our booth during PrintPack and discuss the future of food packaging," advised Atre.

The biggest issue in any business today is sustainability and environmental management. When one discusses ink, sustainability is the most talked about. Atre thinks more needs to be done. "Talking and acting are two different things, unfortunately. The real change in our conduct and our business can only come when people wake up to this serious problem. Government regulatory bodies need to be more aggressive in implementing the environmental regulations and if alternative options are available in a cost-effective model. We still have a long way to go."

Toyo Ink Arets India was perhaps the first to introduce UV inks and coatings for the offset segment; first to introduce texture coatings for carton packaging. In 2005, when Toyo Ink Arets (then Arets Graphics) introduced UV inks for carton packaging, it opened up possibilities for converters to overcome the challenge of drying on closed substrates like plastics, and MetPET. UV inks, together with texture coatings by Toyo.
