“Three years ago, we were looking for a productive and a reliable lamination machine for both MetPet and post-press finishing application and Steinemann fitted the bill perfectly,” said Vikas Ghai of Delhi-based Sterling Publishers on investment in the kit.

Sterling has invested in a Steinemann Lotus 102SF, a solvent-free lamination machine, which uses the polyurethane glue (PUR). The machine can run at a speed of 11,000 sheet per hour. The solvent-free machine is recommended for the food and pharmaceutical industry.

Talking about the applications, Ghai said, “We use the machine majorly for MetPet and commercial post-press lamination. Lamination is a basic process that needs to be done for using a MetPet job on the UV press. So, this machine is a critical one for MetPet printing in our business.”

Ghai said, “Also, any equipment which does not have a breakdown is great. In the case of Steinemann lamination machine, we have seldom had a breakdown. We have had to call the engineer only for preventive maintenance and a rare breakdown. This has ensured a steady flow of jobs for the printing press and for the post-press equipment.”

Established in 2004, Delhi-based Sterling Publishers has a fully-integrated, digital print production facility. The firm specialises in the creation of high-quality books, art books, etc. They also cater to the labels, decals and packaging segment.
