Talking about the investment made during Drupa 2016, Janakarajan K, the managing director of Star Colourpark India, said, “We have always believed in building our solution offering with the latest technology and have always been looking for new viable technology which would improve our quality. DC-646, the top-end slitter/cutter/creaser from Duplo fitted our profile perfectly.”

He said, “The ability of the machine to process paper sizes up to 14x26-inch was the deal clincher since it was compatible with the paper sizes printed on the Xerox iGen150 press. Also, most of our customers’ walk-in to our premises with their requirements and quick turnaround is imperative. With Duplo, we can now provide high-quality finished products."

Started in 1991 as a copy shop, Star Colorpark was among the early adopters of the Xerox iGen150 press in India, which was installed in 2014.

The DC-646 is a fully automated multi-finisher that offers up to eight slits, 25 cuts and 20 creases in a single pass.

In addition to the Duplo, Star Colourpark has also commissioned three Xerox Versant 80 machines to cater to the increasing demands effectively. “We will also be entering the web-to-print business soon, and hence these investments are in line with our company’s strategy,” informed Janakarajan.

The firm currently boasts of six branches in Coimbatore and one in Erode. Plus, two branches in Chennai (in the name of Xcellent Xerox).

TechNova, which represents Duplo in India has supplied and installed the machine. The company said it has a team of trained service engineers to back an installation base of 24 Duplo machines in India.
