Smartwin Innovation, the Indian representative of HX CP, showcased its HX CP 180 signature sewing machine and CP folding machine at Pamex, targeting commercial book printers and binding houses.
Speaking to PrintWeek at the show, Selvin Job, chief operations officer at Smartwin Innovation, said the focus was on offering practical, high-speed solutions for established book manufacturing environments. “We are showcasing the HX CP 180 sewing machine and the CP folding machine, both designed for basic but high-volume book production,” he said.
The HX CP 180 is a book signature sewing machine with a maximum speed of 150 cycles per minute and a spine length capacity of up to 420-mm, supporting inserted form signatures. The CP folding machine operates at speeds of up to 210 metres per minute, handling around 13,000 sheets per hour in full-format configurations.
Job said Smartwin closed deals for two machines during the exhibition, one of which is Bengaluru’s Brilliant Printers. He added that pricing, reliability and performance were central to HX CP’s positioning. “The speed is comparable to European machines, but the price point is lower,” he said. “For established book binders and diary manufacturers, this combination makes commercial sense.”
Job noted that the showcased machines were aimed at conventional book production rather than short-run digital publishing, but remained well-suited for printers handling large volumes with consistent formats.
