SIES Impressions'19 to conduct its first national symposium

The first national Symposium organised by the department of printing and packaging technology under the event Impressions 2019, is scheduled on 09 March 2019, at the SIES School of Packaging, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.

The event will be inaugurated by the chief guest for the day, Kuldip Goel, president LMAI.

Prasad Balan Iyer, HOD of printing and packaging technology, SIES GST, said, “It’s been quite some time that we were planning to have a national symposium, two years to be precise, and we have finally put together a fantastic one under our 9th annual festival Impressions'19.”

The symposium comprises of three panel discussions, first on the topic 'Latest printing technology shifts’ moderated by Faheem Agboatwala, of Hi-Tech Printing Services. Second, on ‘Tackling plastic ban and moving towards sustainability’ moderated by Rushikesh Aravkar of PrintWeek India and WhatPackaging?. And the third, on the topic ‘Road ahead for printing and packaging education’ moderated by Ainain Shahidi of SIES School of Packaging.

The panel discussion on the first topic mentioned above will be held amongst Ramu Ramanathan of PrintWeek India and WhatPackaging?, Gururaj Kirsur of DuPont India, Swarnangka Samaddar of TechNova and Sajith Pallipuram of Welbound Worldwide.

The panellists for the second topic which is on tackling plastic ban will include Nitin Nair of Godrej Consumer Products, Harshavardhan Nayak of Henkel Adhesives, Ajit Gadgil of GD Environmental, Milind Chavan of Dow Packaging, and Sunil Bhagwat of Huhtamaki Paper Products.

And the third panel discussion will comprise of Prof PV Narayanan of SIES School of Packaging, Kiran Prayagi of Graphic Art Technology and Education, Anurag Kulshreshtha of IIT Roorkee and Rajnish Shirsat of R&S Enterprises.

The symposium will also comprise of a few key speeches from top names from the industry such as Rohit Mehta of SMI Coated Products, Murad Kalal of Esko Graphics, and Ajit Gadgil of GD Environmental, amongst others.

“The symposium will certainly be a very informative and knowledgeable event for students, academicians and industry alike,” Iyer added.
