Messe Frankfurt India, one of the leading trade show organisers in the country, has pushed back the launch of the New Delhi edition of Screen Print India to December this year. Initially, the show was scheduled to debut alongside Gartex Texprocess India in March in New Delhi.

"With the implementation of Unlock 2.0 by the government, businesses in India are slowly starting to re-open their doors. Working together in close consultation with sector players and industry associations, Messe Frankfurt India has announced new dates for Screen Print India - India’s leading trade fair for screen, textile, sublimation and digital printing technologies," the organiser told PrintWeek.

It said the exhibition aims to provide sector players with a secure business environment allowing them to reconnect, explore new market demands and rebuild their supply chains.

According to industry experts, the label and package printing industry will witness a strong growth in the coming months as there will be a surge in disposable and flexible packaging, which are now being considered more hygienic due to limited handling. The rise in food delivery and takeaway services is expected to further drive demand for disposable and flexible packaging.

During one of the series of webinars organised Messe Frankfurt India, which focused on embracing change in current business models, Dharminder Biharie, CEO, BizzModell emphasised, “In the post-lockdown era, the screen and digital printing industry will see a comfortable growth as there will be an increase in demand for food packaging and labelling manufacturers, especially in metro cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata and others.”

However, the organiser said that the exhibition will play a critical role in bringing together key industry players for knowledge-exchange sessions on topics related to the graphics industry, and aims to provide exhibitors and visitors with the latest trends in the present situation.

"Leading manufacturing brands will conduct live demos of their latest technological offerings to potential business visitors and traders during the three-day event," a press note by the organiser stated.

Screen Print India 2020 will be hosting Screen Print Excellence Awards to honour path-breakers and technology inventors within the screen printing industry. The awards will also feature a special “SPI Sample Gallery” showcasing award winning pieces of screen printing excellence.

Having made its debut in 1994, Screen Print India exhibition is held biennially in Mumbai. Since its inception, the show has grown wider in scope covering not just screen printing but textile printing and digital printing. Previously owned and managed by Aditya Expositions, the acquisition by Messe Frankfurt India in 2017 not only reinforced its position as a formidable player in the print sector but also broadened its scope in the textile technologies portfolio.
